By combining education, culture and community leadership, MSALT aims to inspire a new generation to study African history, practice the principles of Ma'at and build stronger families and communities.
Through partnerships, workshops, community events and our future mobile museum, we are creating a movement of learning and cultural restoration.

Ma'at (pronounced mai-aut) means "Truth" and Sankofa means "Look Back and Fetch it."
Together, these principles form the foundation of the Ma'at Sankofa African Learning Temple
MSALT is a community-centered learning initiative dedicated to restoring knowledge of African history, culture, leadership and life skills through engaging workshops and educational programs.
We are a research center for African studies, African spiritual practices, and practical daily living practices of MA'AT.
